The following items were discussed at the Session Meeting held on May 17, 2015:

The treasurer presented the financial report for April.

¨    The report indicates the we are somewhat behind in income at this time, but we are still in good shape.

The Session received a letter from the Presbytery regarding the Church Relations Team project and asking for participants.

¨ The Church Relations Team is trying to gather the names of people who might be interested in periodically visiting another congregation for worship services and possibly a Session meeting.

¨ The visiting friend will connect with the participating congregation for a period of 2 years.  The  object is to become familiar with what other congregations are doing and to reconnect with other churches.

PNC report.

¨ The PNC had its first get acquainted meeting with a candidate.  While the meeting went well, the committee is continuing to look at other candidates.

¨ Rev. Jump provided a list of 21 names of pastors who might be interested in New Hope.  We will reach out to those people.

Rev. Jump's contract has been extended through the end of August.

There was a lengthy discussion of the Congregational Interest Survey with an emphasis of how to follow up on the information.  There are 40 people who have indicated areas of interest.  While people who responded will not automatically be placed on a committee they could be asked to come together and brainstorm in their area of interest.  It was noted that congregation members are always expressing their thoughts and ideas to the members of various committees.

¨ Members of the various committees will contact the people who have expressed an interest to get their suggestions and ideas.

The Session discussed a process for maintaining a list of church visitors and their contact information in the church office and how to follow up with that information.

The Buildings & Grounds committee reported on updates to the New Hope buildings and landscaping.

¨ The new sidewalk out front has been installed.

¨ Lighted cross on the sanctuary building is fixed.

¨ The lights on the sign and building will be updated with light sensors instead of timers.

¨ There is no problem with the cross on the sanctuary building. It just needs to be repainted.

¨ The committee is looking into installing two washer lights to shine on the steeple.

¨ Landscape should begin the week of the 18th.

¨ There has been a proposal for a major overhaul for the kitchen in the McMillan Building.

¨ A contractor will be contacted to get an estimate.

The Session was reminded that all dedicated donations to New Hope must be presented to the Session for approval and acceptance.

The Worship Committee reported that planning is continuing for the Taize Services scheduled for June 7th.

The committee is looking into getting signs for the front lawn.

We will create a Facebook event to advertise.

The Education committee reported that Vacation Bible School will be held July 7-10 and will use both the McMillan Building and the Sanctuary.

The Mission committee indicated that there will be a Mission Committee meeting Tues. June 2nd.
