Why New Hope

                                Why Visit?

Why visit New Hope?

For over forty years New Hope Presbyterian has stood on the corner of Shallowford and Napier Roads, but we’re not about the building, or even the location. At New Hope Presbyterian Church, we believe that Jesus Christ is at work in every corner of Chattanooga, in every single person, and so our mission is to go out into the world and proclaim the Good News of God’s Kingdom.

We come to New Hope for fellowship, for worship, but then we go out as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We are equipped and sent out into the world to fulfill our vocations, from teachers to nurses to engineers to parents to children, and in so doing we believe that we point to Christ at all times.

It is our fervent prayer that each person, made in the image of God, will feel accepted, and that they will join with us in worship, study and fellowship, and that they will go forth, equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit to let God’s light shine in and through them, for all the world to see.

New Hope Presbyterian Mission Statement

We seek to fulfill Christ’s greatest commandment to love God with heart, soul, mind and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves, by assuaging the hunger of our neighbors and ourselves for food, fellowship, and faith to satisfy the body’s longing for sustenance, the heart’s longing for belonging and the spirit’s longing for connection with the Triune God, revealed to us most fully in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
