Summary of the Session Meetings – August 2018
- Treasurer Troy Ivey gave a report on the current fiscal condition of the church.
- Contributions continue to fall behind last year’s pace.
- Our investments are up by 1.4%.
- The Session continues to look at planning for the sale of the church and the investment of the proceeds.
- Ron Young gave a detailed update on the state of our request to keep the left turn signal from Shallowford Road active.
- There has been a lot of correspondence between New Hope, Drury, the Regional Planning Commission, CDOT and Councilmen Leadford.
- Drury has commissioned a traffic study that will be submitted to CDOT who will then make a recommendation to the Planning Commission.
- The meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled for September 10th.
- At this point it looks like the meeting will take place on that date as scheduled.
- It is important that as many people as possible representing New Hope be in attendance . Please put it on your calendar and plan to attend.
- All of this has caused the closing on the church property and the purchase of the new church property to be delayed to November.
- It was necessary to provide additional Option money to the sellers of the new property because of this delay.
- Drury helped to provide the funds for this.
- Lizz Savard reviewed the status of our strategic plan.
- The church surveys are in and we will evaluating those in the next month.
- Once this is done the Session will be getting back to the congregation to discuss the results.

- Marilyn Suber gave a report on the Presbytery meeting of August 18th.
- The Presbytery is again sponsoring an International Peacemaker and the Session is looking into bringing him here in October.
- The Session would like to thank all of those who have participated in the church cleanup and the inventory project.
- Potluck suppers will begin again at the end of September.
The next Session meeting will be September 16th.
